Flood Assistance – Our Neighbors to the North

Flooding in NashvilleAs we have seen in the past days, the volunteer spirit is alive and well in Nashville.  We hope that none of our members experienced any major loss or suffered significant property damage.

In the efforts to help our neighbors and repair our city, we hope you will all do everything you can.  While there are numerous organizations and efforts to which we can donate our time and resources, we wanted to make three particular ones easily accessible to you.

www.hon.org - Hands On Nashville can connect you to volunteer opportunities in and around the city that match your abilities, resources, and location.  It’s easy to use and provides many options to serve.

www.nashvilleredcross.org – The Red Cross can accept monetary or item donations and provides opportunities to volunteer in flood-affected parts of our community.

www.tide.com – As the Tide Loads Of Hope truck is coming to Nashville this week, we wanted to remind you that you can support their efforts to provide clean clothes to our neighbors in need by purchasing a Loads of Hope T-shirt.  The purchase price in donated and matched to help those served by the truck.

In addition to these, remember that most churches and civic organizations in town are still accepting monetary donations, non-perishable food, toiletry items, and other things to support those who lost or suffered damage to their homes.  Many of us could walk a block or less and be at a collection site.  Please help when you can and reach out to your friends and fellow Nashvillians.

In service,
The Davidson County Young Republican Executive Board
