=================== WCYR Update - February 2008 =================== Contents: * Meeting Location & Time Change * WCYR Officers for 2008 * Annual Event Planning * Upcoming Dates -------------------------------------- Meeting Location & Time Change -------------------------------------- In February, we met on a Wednesday night at Dan McGuinness in Cool Springs. While attendance at the meeting was higher than normal, everyone agreed that neither the night nor the location were ideal. After discussing the issue, the members in attendance voted to move the meeting to either Sportsman's Lodge or Cozymel's and to meet either the first or third Thursday of March, depending on what was available. As it turns out, Sportsman's Lodge requires $450 minimum food orders to reserve their room, and they don't do reservations for recurring meetings. Cozymel's on the other hand, only asks for a count of attendance and suggests that group sizes over 20 eat from the buffet. March's meeting will be the first Thursday - 3/6 - at Cozymel's. We have also switched to using eVite to send meeting reminders. If you did not receive an eVite for the March meeting, please let me know. -------------------------------------- WCYR Officers for 2008 -------------------------------------- New WCYR officers were elected for 2008 at the February meeting. The results are: Chair - Josh Edlin Vice Chair - Angela Hoover Treasurer - James Amundsen Secretary - Laurie Kurowski Paliamentarian - Mary Kate Anderson -------------------------------------- Annual Event Planning -------------------------------------- Angela Hoover is heading up the effort to plan an annual YR event this year. Last year's event was a crawfish boil, but no firm decisions have been made on this year's event.
